Happy New Year!! My goal to be a Data Analyst!

Good morning. My name is InJil Omens and this blog is to hone my skills as I progress through my journey to become a Data Analyst.

I'll be straight up honest and say the reason I'm getting into this field is to make more money. Also, to be able to do more projects on my own regarding my personal interests outside my current job, such as cosplay and helping the homeless. I'll do a separate blog on these later.

This blog will have information on Information Technology, Computer Science, the differences between some of the main jobs, like Data Entry, Data Analyst, IT Support, and more. This blog will also have some research on various topics as well as where I get my resources and learning material from.

Come join me on my journey!!

Just what is Information Technology?

Chances are, if you are reading this right now, you are either on a phone, desktop, pc, maybe an xbox or playstation console, but you are definitely using a piece of technology to see this. It's amazing that something as simple as this blog could possibly reach millions of people because of the technology we now use. We can see that we have come a long way in how we are not only able to view things online, but how we can reach people. Right now I'm on blogspot, typing away, while the website is saving my draft until I'm ready to publish it. When you are...

Just what is Computer Science?

In my prior post, I defined what is Information Technology? Some of you may from time to time confuse it with it's counterpart, Computer Science. Let's get right to defining it, shall we?     Computer Science is defined as the study of computers and computing, including their theoretical and algorithmic foundations, hardware and software, and their uses for processing information. 1   In other words, the inner workings of a computer.          Alan Turing, considered by many to be the father of modern computer science, formed the concept of algorithms and computations with his invention, named the Turing Machine. The Turing Machine could be adapted to do any algorithm, no matter how complex. This was done in 1936. 2     Although a lot of jobs from Information Technology can be obtained with learning information through Computer Science, Computer Science deals more with making the computer and it's parts. Some specific jobs a...
